Jon Boutcher to stand down as Bedfordshire Chief Constable

Chief Constable Jon Boutcher who is leading Operation Kenova, the historic investigation into the activities of alleged army agent Stakeknife is to stand down as Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Police.
 
Mr Boutcher, who has more than 35 years’ experience in policing, will leave the role in July. However, he will continue to lead Operation Kenova.
 
He said: “While it has been an absolute privilege to be Chief Constable of Bedfordshire, it is time for me to move on.
 
“I will continue to lead Operation Kenova which is moving into a really important phase and I am totally committed to getting to the truth for all the families involved.”
